i love this SO much
my 4-year-old hasn’t seen the movie but we have a story book of Brave
and one thing i always say to her (even though for some families it isn’t true, she’s gonna believe it for us, dammit) is “mommies always save their kids”
and this was the first time she got to see a story where a daughter saves her mom
i want her to know she can be strong and defiant and brave
my mom thinks i need to break my daughter’s will to get her to be obedient, but i refuse to do that
i want my kid to know she’s got iron inside of her and i don’t want to melt down
i dunno i just like that she gets to see a story about a mom and daughter like this

i’m writing a book i want to read
i consider that an accomplishment
This week, President Obama signed an Executive Order that prohibits federal contractors from discriminating against their employees on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.
On Friday, join a conversation on the new Executive Order and steps the President has taken to expand opportunity for the LGBT community. Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor to the President, will host for a Tumblr Q&A this Friday, July 25 at 1pm ET.
Right now, you can ask your questions here on the White House Tumblr, and Valerie Jarrett will answer a bunch on Friday, July 25 at 1pm ET.
*puts on think-like-my-parents hat*
So how long before a Christian organization that wants to be able to discriminate by not hiring LGBTQ employees files a discrimination suit against the federal government for not hiring them as a contractor because of their deeply-held religious beliefs?

Tiny. Delicious. One plate can feed two kids and a parent. Awesome.
"How are your grades?"
"What are you doing at university?"
"Have you got a girlfriend?"
"What do you want to do when you leave uni?"
"How can you support gay marriage and still be a real Christian?”
"You know, Jesus is the only true superhero."
"Can I spank her while you’re gone, or does she have authority over me?"
"If you actually cared about saving aborted babies you’d vote Republican."
"Why is your hair like that?"
